Credtent’s Content Origin Badge system is available for free commercial and personal use. Paid Credtent users also get access to official Certified versions of the HCC badge. All work registered as HCC on the platform are run through our suite of detection tools.

Here are quick descriptions of each badge:

  • Human-Created Content (HCC) HCC is the work of a human being with nothing more than advice or data generated by generative AI (not autocorrect or similar tools).
  • AI-Assisted Content (AAC) – AAC uses generative AI for building structure for the content, but it is rewritten, recomposed, edited, changed, and otherwise made the creator’s own through their hard work. In this case, the original song, poem, story, artwork, or other creative piece that was generated by the AI is unrecognizable in the edited form.
  • AI-Created Content (ACC) – ACC is simply content created by an AI that is marginally or not edited at all by a human creator. This content should always have a watermark from the AI tool used, and the creator should disclose its origin so that consumers can make their decision about supporting the content a creator has produced or not if they don’t want to experience ACC.

The Content Origin Badges were developed by Credtent’s team of scientists, technologists, and marketing professionals. Our team has built dozens of rubrics and models for the technology world in the past, including eHarmony’s matching algorithm, the a.network Earned Media Value Index and Brand Trust Index, work on Netflix’s recommendation engine, Amazon’s supply chain automation, MyPromise’s Spirituality Index, NEON ID’s Color Fingerprint, cultural and company value indexes, and more.

NOTE: The colors of the Content Origin Badges were updated in September 2024. Please use the new badges for easy identification.
